Hi, I've been to the Algarve many times. I've been to Albufeira a few times and there were a lot of 20-30 year olds there in the peak summer months. Albufeira has an old town and a newer part which is known as "The Strip". The old town has recently been under major re-construction to improve the streets, and consists of mostly pedestrian only streets and loads of bars/restaurants with outside tables. There is a central square area where there is entertainment in the evenings. It's very cosmopolitan in this area and there is a busy beach and market stalls in the town. "The Strip", as you might expect, is a long street filled with mostly bars and restaurants, and is very busy in the summer months. The majority of tourists here are British. Down a very steep hill there is a lovely beach area, again which is fairly busy.
If you want a quieter resort Alvor has a beautiful wide beach which is slightly away from the village where you will find narrow streets and lots of restaurants (esp. seafood from the local harbour) and bars with a relaxed atmosphere.
Vilamoura is one of the closest resorts to the airport of Faro and has an upmarket Marina which has lots of bars, restuarants and high class shops. There is also a casino here and plenty golf courses. Again there are lovely beaches here.
The whole Algarve coast has lovely beaches, although the water is rather cool, though refreshing, even in the summer months, as it is the Atlantic Ocean.
Hope this helps you decide!

Hi, I find the prices are slightly cheaper than Spain. You can eat very cheaply away from the main tourist areas and Albufeira has so many restaurants competing for business they tend to keep the prices reasonable too. You'll find a good variety of food from traditional Portuguese to Indian, Chinese, Mexican and Burger bars. There is a campsite just outside Albufeira - approx. 15-20 mins walk to the Old town but on a busy road. We stay in hotels or apartments - we book through travelrepublic, alpharooms, holidayroomsdirect or holiday-rentals. Hope that helps!

Hi, The best place in Portugal for "nice beaches, relaxing, ******, partying" is really Algarve, probably Albufeira is the best to choose, lots of places to go and the beach is good. I advice to rent a car, because you can drive along the coast of Algarve and try news places.
You have other great places to visit in Portugal (like Lisbon or Porto, but the ocean water is little colder than in Algarve).
You have camping in Algarve, but choose well, because if you are used to camping in france or Italy, you will see the diference ! You have a good site with camping sites in Portugal (its in english):

Have a nice time there!!
Any questions dont hesitate to ask!
